Gil Smith II is the most sought-after international music director, producer, and arranger in the business. Starting off as a classically trained pianist who attended Berklee College of Music, he went on to begin a career as a touring musician. His live credits include the biggest tours, award shows, and TV specials ranging from Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Chris Brown, Cee Lo Green, G-Eazy, Travis Barker, Eminem, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Keri Hilson, Brandy, and Faith Evans.

 

Since 2012, Gil has run his own full-service music production and staffing company, SAGA Entertainment, specializing in live sound mixing, programming, and post-production. Recent projects include the return of Lil Wayne with the I Ain't Sh*t Without You Tour, G-Eazy Endless Summer Tour, and Belly at Coachella.

Gil has directed, produced and arranged for Six Flags Theme Parks iLuminate, The Today Show, American Idol, America’s Got Talent, Dancing With The Stars, Saturday Night Live, the BET Awards, and the Grammys. He worked extensively with Korean record label YG Entertainment and their international sensations, BIGBANG and 2NE1.
